Chesterbrook is now taking reservations for group swim lessons in June and July for children ages 1 through 8.

Swim Lesson Class Details
Tiny Tots: 16 months-3 years old
This class, held in the shallow area of the wading pool, introduces toddlers and young children to the water in a gentle and exploratory way. The instructors will help the children learn to enjoy their water experience in a safe and relaxed manner while teaching them some fundamentals. Parents are welcome to attend and participate in this class but are not required. Trained instructors work with each class of up to ten students.
Pre-Beginner: 3-5 years old
This class, held in the 3-foot area of the wading pool and introduces children to the swimming basics, stroke fundamentals and a deeper water environment, with emphasis on independence and safety. Students will learn to float, submerge their heads and will be introduced to arm and leg movement. Trained instructors work with each class of up to ten students.
Beginner: 4—6 years old
This class, held in the upper pool, is designed for the child who can enter the pool comfortably, fully submerge his/her face for three seconds, and demonstrate the use of a kickboard on front and back. Students will learn stroke readiness, underwater exploration skills, and improve their kicking, floating and breathing skills. Instructors will assist students down the water slide and diving into deep water. Trained instructors work with each class of up to ten students.
Adv. Beginner: 4–7 years old
This class, held in the large upper pool, is for children who can submerge and retrieve an object in chest-deep water and swim on front and back for five yards. Swimmers will learn basic breathing and arm patterns used in the four major strokes. Instructors will work on freestyle and backstroke, elementary backstroke and treading water. Trained instructors work with each class of up to ten students.
Developmental: 5—8 years old
This class will be held in the large upper pool lap-lanes. Children entering this class should be able to dive into the pool from a seated position (sit dive) on the side and be able to swim ten yards each using the free style and the elementary backstroke. Students will work on free style, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, diving and water safety skills. Sidestroke and wall-turns will be introduced. This course will prepare the swimmer with the skills needed for the developmental swim team, known as Little Jaws. Trained instructors work with each class of up to ten students.
$250 for ten 30-minute lessons. Swimmer-Instructor ratio is 5-1 or less.
*2023 4th of July – No class on Tuesday July 4. Make-up class will be held on Monday, July 10.
